Meet Dr. Brenda Hamilton

Brenda Hamilton, DMD, MS, FAGD

Dr. Brenda Rodríguez Hamilton was born and raised in Puerto Rico. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Dentistry in 1995. Dr. Hamilton received her Navy commission under the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program (AFHPSP). She proceeded to her first assignment at Naval Dental Center Great Lakes, IL where she completed a fellowship in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and was awarded The Rear Admirals William O. Gallery & Henry A. Renken.

Junior Officer Award. From 1996-1998 she deployed aboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) where she earned her Surface Warfare Medical Dental Department Officer qualification, and became a trusty Golden Shellback. She later spent two years at the Naval Station Guam prior to transfer to the Washington Navy Yard where she later became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.

In 2004, CAPT Hamilton completed a residency in Periodontics at the National Naval Postgraduate Dental School, Bethesda Maryland “The President’s Hospital.” She also earned a Master of Science in Oral Biology from The George Washington University, Washington, D.C.

In 2011, Dr. Hamilton earned a Master of Science in Human Services with a specialization in Health Care Administration from Capella University, MN. In 2013, Dr. Hamilton was promoted to the rank of Captain in the United States Navy. Dr. Hamilton completed her military career with 27 years of dedicated and faithful service. Dr. Hamilton resides with her mother, two children, and her two furry children. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, going to the movies, baking, and enjoying quality time with friends and family.

Dr. Hamilton is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontics, a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry,

and maintains membership with the American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, Florida Association of Periodontists, and Academy of General Dentistry.
