Dental insurance can be complicated. While it is similar to medical insurance, there are some different terms and guidelines. Do I have an Indemnity, PPO, HMO or Discount insurance plan? What does that mean for me?
Insurance plans can range from a set reduced fee schedule with no annual limits (discount plan) to plans that allow patients to pay a lowered service fee and co-pay to an in-network dentist (PPO). We can help you understand your purchased insurance type.
What is the difference between covered benefits and optional treatments?
Covered benefits are typically those recommended by your dentist, and include services listed on the plan’s fee schedule. However, if you choose a treatment or service beyond what is needed to repair a tooth or you elect for a cosmetic dental service, it is considered “optional treatment” and may not be covered.
What if I need help financing the remaining portion of my dental care that is not covered by my insurance?
